If traveling to festivities on the National Mall, consider exiting at L’Enfant Plaza, Archives, Federal Triangle, Gallery Place, Judiciary Square, Union Station, Foggy Bottom, Capitol South, or Federal Center SW.
Trains are single tracking between Takoma and Rhode Island Ave due to a signal problem outside Fort Totten. Some trains will offload at NoMa-Gallaudet to minimize congestion. Customers will experience delays in both directions.
Metro customers are encouraged to seek shelter from July 4th activities due to reports of severe weather. Expect extremely heavy crowds at stations near the National Mall and expect metering if platforms become crowded. To avoid congestion, consider using L'Enfant Plaza, Metro Center, Archives, Federal Triangle, or Federal Center SW stations. Allow extra travel time and follow instructions from Metro personnel.
