If traveling to festivities on the National Mall, consider exiting at L’Enfant Plaza, Archives, Federal Triangle, Gallery Place, Judiciary Square, Union Station, Foggy Bottom, Capitol South, or Federal Center SW.
Customers may experience delays due to heat-related inspections and systemwide speed restrictions at above-ground stations caused by rising temperatures.
The National Mall Side of Smithsonian station is entry only due to activities at the National Mall. The Independence Avenue entrance of Smithsonian will remain open for both entry and exit.
Trains are no longer bypassing Smithsonian Station.
Customers will experience delays to Vienna and Ashburn due to a train with a mechanical problem at Deanwood.
Federal Triangle: At the request of the Secret Service, customers must exit thru the Reagan Courtyard to Pennsylvania Ave. 12th St is not open at this time.
