Due to Amtrak overhead wire and infrastructure damage resulting from an earlier Amtrak track car fire in one of the Hudson River Tunnels, NJ TRANSIT rail service is suspended between Penn Station New York and Newark Penn Station with cancellations and delays expected. Midtown Direct service is being diverted to Hoboken. NJ TRANSIT rail tickets & passes are being cross honored by NJ TRANSIT and private carrier bus & PATH at Newark Penn Station, Hoboken & 33rd Street, NY. Customer should visit the NJ TRANSIT website ABC’s contingency plan for available alternate service information.

Northeast Corridor rail express service (3900 Series) to and from Trenton will operate local today, 5/29/26, due to equipment availability resulting from service suspension.
Raritan Valley Line rail service will originate and terminate at Newark Penn Station today, 5/29/26, due to service suspension between Penn Station New York and Newark Penn Station.
