Red Line riders can expect longer travel times on the Braintree Branch nightly from 8 PM, to end of service. This is to allow for critical signal work near JFK/UMass. Starts Sat Mar 14 Until Sun Mar 15
How Long Will the Work Take:
To accomplish this work, four phases of temporary evening service changes will continue through April. Each phase should take about two weeks to complete.

How Much Longer Will my Trip Be:
Riders should budget an additional 10 – 15 minutes of travel time during this work.

When is the Next Phase:
Likely beginning March 15 with longer travel times on the Ashmont Branch.

Why are we Doing This:
This work is part of a signal modernization project in Columbia Junction near JFK/UMass. Signals in this area were significantly damaged by a derailment in 2019.
Red Line: Delays of up to 15 minutes due to an ongoing signal problem at Central. Trains are being asked to stand by at stations. Started Tue Mar 10 Until
On Sunday, March 15th, bikes will not be allowed on board any Commuter Rail train or shuttle bus due to heavy St. Patrick's Day parade ridership. Starts Sun Mar 15 Until Mon Mar 16
Special St. Patrick's Day shuttle bus service will be available to and from South Station and South Boston from 9:30 AM to 5 PM on Sunday, March 15. Starts Sun Mar 15 Until Sun Mar 15
The last trip back to South Station will leave at 4:30 PM:

Pick up at Summer St @ Atlantic Ave
Drop off at E 1st St @ City Point Bus Terminal.
