On New Year’s Eve, Wednesday, December 31, 2025, Hampton Roads Transit bus, light rail, Base Express, paratransit, and ridesharing services will operate on a regular schedule. The ferry will operate until 2:00 AM. All transit center information booths will operate in accordance with their normal schedule. The Customer Service Call Center will operate from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
On New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1, 2026, most Hampton Roads Transit bus routes will operate on a regular Sunday schedule, but some bus routes will operate on a modified Sunday schedule, meaning service will end earlier (see Gohrt.com for details). The light rail, Base Express, paratransit, and ridesharing services will operate on a Sunday schedule. The ferry will operate on a regular schedule. Administrative facilities, transit center information booths, and the Customer Service Call Center will be CLOSED.
Due to the closure of the Huntington Ingalls Newport News Shipyard for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, the Routes 403, 405, 415, 430, 966
967 and 972 will not operate Wednesday, December 24, 2025, through Sunday, January 4, 2026. Also, the specialized trips (Routes 414, 921, 961, and 964) will operate, but they will not serve the Huntington Ingalls Newport News Shipyard. These affected routes will resume operation on Monday, January 5, 2026.
