To allow Atherton Carnival to take place safely, a number of road closures will be in place. As a result, some bus services will operate on diversion.

Market Street in Atherton will be closed whilst the Atherton Market takes place. As a result, bus services will operate on diversion.
Prestwich Tram Stop - Improvement Works Started Mon May 18 Until Wed Aug 19 (Updated Thu May 21 )
Essential improvement works will be taking place at Prestwich Metrolink stop. Tram services will not be affected however, there may be an increased presence of staff at this stop during this time.
Poolstock, Wigan - Bus Stop Closure Started Mon May 18 Until Wed May 27 (Updated Wed May 13 )
The bus stop at the junction of Poolstock and Corporation Street is closed due to works taking place.
Piccadilly Tram Stop - Escalator out of service Started Tue May 26 (Updated Tue May 26 )
The escalator to exit Piccadilly Metrolink stop to the city centre or mainline station is currently out of service. Please follow the signage for the lift from platform level to the mezzanine and mainline station.
Greater Manchester Run 2026 Starts Sun May 31 Until Sun May 31 (Updated Sun May 24 )
On Sunday 31 May, the Great Manchester Run will be held in Manchester City Centre. Several road closures will be implemented, which will cause disruption throughout the day. Diversions will be implemented from the first bus until the roads have been reopened in the early evening.
